Just what is The Wine Café? Some folks want to know but are afraid to ask (or afraid to come on down and try it out). Let me explain.
Northampton Wines has offered an immense and (we think) well chosen retail wine selection since 1975. In 2003 we renovated and aggrandized the old Broad Street “Trolley Barn” where our store was already thriving. We added a full scale professional kitchen and an elegantly rustic 46 seat dining room. We expanded our staff with some of the best people in the restaurant business. We asked them to provide great food and service in a friendly wine-oriented environment. This they have done!
Our dining room is open from 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. We offer a varied menu of classic, house-prepared foods and our entire retail wine selection at retail plus $10 corkage. Every soup, sorbet, sauce, and salad is prepared from scratch by our own staff. Our kitchen insists on the finest traditional techniques. Steaks are cut and fish are filleted in house. From the simplest “Bar Bite” to the grandest Filet Mignon, everything is prepared to order.
