Tim Easter

Tim Easter was born in Western North Carolina and grew up here in Greenville. He has been a part of Northampton Wines for over 20 years, having joined us while still a student a Furman University. His involvement in the shop expanded to full time after his graduation in 1985 with a degree in Double Bass performance. A flexible schedule at Northampton Wines has allowed Tim to remain extremely active in classical music performance. He serves as principal Double Bass in the Greenville Symphony Orchestra and the South Carolina Philharmonic. Additionally, he serves as principal of the Augusta Opera and performs in the double bass section of the Charleston Symphony. In 1997 he appeared with the L.A. Piano Quartet in Greenville. He serves as double bass instructor at Furman University and served in the same capacity at the USC School of Music from 1997 – 2002.

With our move to the Broad Street location in 2000, Tim took over our new liquor department. In addition to week-to-week ordering, he fills a growing number of special orders for hard to get liquors and liqueurs. Under his guidance we have focused on premium brands in all liquor categories. For many years, Tim has been in charge of our substantial business in fine cheeses. Here too, he has overseen a significant expansion. We now receive airfreight shipments of a rotating assortment of regional specialties and hard to get seasonal items.

Tim is an avid golfer and, not surprisingly, collector of fine wines. He is a member of Chaine des Rotisseurs and its wine affiliate, l’Ordre Mondial. Tim is pleased to be able to pursue an active music performance career while maintaining his position at Northampton Wines.
